Job Description
HVAC Competencies
- Responsible for take-offs from engineer plans and drawings for quotations
- Responsible for programming building automation control systems
- Responsible for the design and implementation of control graphics
- Responsible for start-up and commissioning of building automation systems
- Conduct customer training in use and operation of building automation systems
Core Competencies
- Trained in the operation of:
- Emergency power distribution systems and uninterrupted power supply systems (UPS)
- Building automation systems
- Boiler and boiler controls
- Commercial building maintenance such lighting, electrical and H.V.A.C. systems
- Economizing operation and set-up
- Electronic and pneumatic controls (basic)
- Installation and commissioning of digital, electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls
- Facilities maintenance
- Repair and maintenance of heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems
- Repair and maintenance to hot water heating systems such as heating valves, boilers, outdoor reset controls and hot water heating pumps
- Repair and maintenance of electric heating systems
- General maintenance of ventilation equipment (filter replacement, coil cleaning and drive belt repairs)
- Certificates
- Air Conditioning & Refrigeration License
- Gas Fitter I or II License by T.S.S.A.
- Ozone Depletion
- WHMIS and Fall Arrest
- Technical skills
- Troubleshooting (HVAC)
- BACnet Programming
- Programming languages: C, C++, Java, Assembly and SQL
- Scripts: HTML, ASP/ASP.NET and XML
- Protocols: HTTP, FTP, TCP and IP
- Operating systems: DOS, Windows, XP/NT, Unix, Linux
